Admissions to PG degree programme (2014-’15) for NRI candidates.

Applications are invited for admissions to the following Post graduate Degree Programme in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur under NRI quota for the Academic year 2014-’15.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

a) Doctoral Degree in Agriculture/ Agricultural Engineering

The candidate should possess a Master’s degree in respective subject with a minimum 7.00/10.00 or an equivalent OGPA from an University/ Institute in the same subject with course work and research at Master’s level in which candidate seeks to specialize in Doctoral degrees. Master Degree holders in Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation are eligible for Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension Education subjects only. Such candidates shall also enclose certificate of English language proficiency like ELTS/ TOFEL.

2 b) Master’s Degree in Agriculture: M. Sc. (Agri.)

The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with OGPA of not less than 2.50/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 or an equivalent percentage of marks.

Bachelor’s Degree holders in Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation are eligible for Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension Education subjects only.

However candidates with B. Sc. (Agri. Biotechnology) from any Agricultural University are eligible for Masters Degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Seed Science and Technology/ Molecular Biology and Agricultural Biotechnology and Crop Physiology.

Candidates with B. Sc. (Sericulture) from any Agricultural University are eligible for Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Entomology, Agricultural Extension Education and Agronomy.

For M. Sc. (Agri.) in Crop Physiology/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Horticulture/ Molecular Biology and Agricultural Biotechnology/ Seed Science and Technology/ Agronomy/ Agril. Microbiology/ Agril. Entomology/ Plant Pathology/ Soil Science and Agril. Chemistry: Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture from any recognized University.

For M. Sc. (Agri.) in Agril. Economics/ Agril. Extension Education: Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation from any recognized Agricultural/ Horticultural University. Such candidates should also enclose certificate of English language proficiency like ELTS/ TOFEL.

c) Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering: M. Tech. (Ag. Engg.)

The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology with an OGPA of not less than 2.50/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 or an equivalent percentage of marks from any recognised University/ Institute.

GENERAL NOTE:

ADMISSION PROCEDURE: The admission committee so constituted will prepare the list of eligible candidates based on merit considering the eligibility requirements prescribed for admission and recommend to the University for necessary approval and upon approval the Registrar will notify the same and communicate to the concerned.

RESERVATION OF SEATS: The seats shall be reserved in favour of NRI/ Children of NRI/ NRI sponsored candidate well within the existing 10% over and above the intake to the respective Degree programmes not exceeding two students per department. Admissions will be made as per the recommendations of the Admission committee based on the merit of the candidate in the given subject/ department.

2) The application fee is 20 US dollars or Rs. 1000/- payable in the form of Demand Draft only drawn in favour of the Comptroller, UAS, Raichur purchased on or after the date of this Notification, payable at Raichur.

3) Fees to be paid by the candidate seeking admission to PG hostel at UAS, Raichur (Subject to availability of the hostel rooms):

4) Hostel Facility:

Hostel facilities will be provided subject to the availability in the UAS, campus Raichur. The candidate desired to stay in the campus must occupy the rooms allotted to him/ her by the Chief Warden as is where is condition. No demand for alteration is entertained to meet his/ her personal requirements.

5) General Instructions:

1. On receipt of selection letter, the candidate needs to confirm his/ her willingness to join the programme in writing for which he/ she has been provisionally selected for admission. No change of subject is entertained subsequently.

2. The University will not own the responsibility of candidates involvement in any unlawful activities during of his/ her study and candidate himself/herself is solely responsibility.

3. The confirmation of the admission is subject to the verification and confirmation of all original transcripts/ certificates of prescribed fees and fulfilment of all other admission requirements by the concerned authority.
