State University of Performing and Visual Arts, ab initio, established as Integrated Campus of the Government Technical Institution(s) Society came into existence by Haryana Government Act No. 24 of 2014 with the objective to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of Design, Fine Arts, Urban Planning and Architecture and Film & Television and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields.

The University is located at Rohtak in the State of Haryana – about 80 Kms. from Delhi on Delhi-Hissar – Sirsa National Highway (NH-10) and is well connected to NH-1, being only 90k.m.from Panipat. It is well connected by rail as well as road. Rohtak is the education hub of the State with excellent facilities for education in all fields of knowledge. It is a unique world level University with a campus sprawling over 35 acres of land and is well laid with state-of-the-art buildings and magnificent road network, presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty.

The University specializes in cultivating a certain kind of artistic sensibility which simultaneously satisfies the creative demands of a work of art and the practical requirement of the profession. Soon the university will enjoy an international reputation for excellence in the fields of fine Art, Design, Architecture, and Cinema. A unique inter disciplinary approach is maintained here towards the field of visual and performing arts where young professionals are prepared to be part of the ever growing demands in these fields. Our hardworking team has the zeal to take the university to new heights with the vision to develop young minds to become achievers in their respective fields.

The University imparting 14 highly professional and technical under-graduate programmes are offered through its well-furnished and well equipped four Institutes with efficient and dedicated faculty. The Government Haryana find new avenues which can act as a catalyst for overall development of the State and will help in promoting this cultural legacy of our Nation.

The University will work to emerge as a premier Institution for imparting training in the fields of Fine Arts, Architecture, Design and Cinema in the country and will produce highly trained professionals. The University aims at a world class higher education system and will prepare students to be the citizens of multi-cultural community. University is striving to teach skills and creativity with global standards, with an emphasis on the rich heritage of Indian Traditional Art Forms in a new paradigm of Globalization.

About SUPVA

The State University of Performing & Visual Arts (SUPVA), Rohtak is an integrated campus offering educational programs in the fields of Fine Arts, Urban Planning & Architecture, Fashion Design and Film & Television.

Presently, SUPVA is offering only undergraduate programs and in a later phase may offer post graduate and research programs too. While each of the 4 institutes on the campus have their own individual buildings, the common infrastructure facilities include an art gallery, an auditoriam, a knowledge center and a cafeteria.

SUPVA Bachelor Degree programs

Institute of Fine Arts

Type of course: all are 4 year degree courses.

    • Painting: 20 seats
    • Applied Art: 20 seats
    • Print making: 20 seats
    • Sculpture: 10 seats
  • Animation & Multimedia: 10 seats

Eligibility criteria

You should have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% under recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Education/ Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. Alternately, you should have a 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% marks.

Institute of Design

Type of course: all are 4 year degree courses.

    • Apparel Design: 20 seats
    • Textile Design: 20 seats
    • Product Design: 20 seats
  • Life Style Accessories Design: 20 seats

Eligibility criteria

You should have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% under recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Education/ Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. Alternately, you should have a 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% marks.

Institute of Film & TV

Type of course: all are 3 year degree courses

    • Acting: 12 seats
    • Cinematography: 12 seats
    • Direction: 12 seats
    • Editing: 12 seats
  • Sound recording & Sound design: 12 seats

Eligibility criteria

You should have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% under recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Education/ Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. Alternately, you should have a 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% marks.

Institute of Urban Planning & Architecture

  1. Architecture: Type of course: 5 year degree course, with 40 seats.

    Eligibility criteria

    : You should have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% under recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Education/ Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with English & Maths as compulsory subjects. Alternately, you should have a 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% marks.

    Merit criteria

    Admission to the Bachelor of Architecture program will be on the basis of a valid NATA score conducted by Council of Architecture (COA) and on the marks you score in the qualifying examination in the ratio of 50:50 through online & off-Campus counseling by HSTES, as per their schedule [Refer: www.hstes.org or www.hstes.in].

  2. Interior Design: Type of course: 4 year degree course, with 20 seats.

    Eligibility criteria

    same as for above course.

    Merit criteria

    Selection to the Bachelor of Interior Design program will be on the basis of the combined merit of performance, as per the following criteria: Qualifying Exam (30% weightage), Written Test (30% weightage) and Skill Test (40% weightage).

Note on reservation of seats for all courses: 50% are reserved for Haryana candidates and 50% for all-India category candidates. Reservation of seats is as per the State Govt. policy.

Selection process for SUPVA UG programs

Eligible candidates will appear for a written exam. Those who are shortlisted from the written exam (in the ration of 1 seat to 4 candidates will then undergo a skills test (if applicable for the course applied for) at Rohtak as per the schedule mentioned in the prospectus.
