Founded in 2007, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata is a higher education institution located in the metropolis of Kolkata (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), West Bengal. Officially accredited/recognized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, India, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER Kolkata) is a coeducational higher education institution. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER Kolkata) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. NIPER Kolkata is an Indian public Pharmacy research university, and a part of the seven schools, under India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research Kolkata (West Bengal) is a proposed institute for advanced research and education in the field of pharmacy. It is going to be constructed in Kolkata. NIPER Kolkata will be created under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizer, Government of India. Till the construction of national importance is on proposal, the institute will function from Indian Institute of Chemical Biology. NIPER Kolkata will provide the facilities of X-ray Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscope, Protein Micro Array, General Proteomic and Imaging facility, a state-of-the-art Animal House and Stem Cell facility, Bio-Safety (Level 3) facility, CHN Analyzer and many more instrumental facility for research.NIPER Kolkata will focus not only on research, but also on innovation in the field of pharmacy.

Admission will be done through an entrance examination, organized by NIPER, SAS Nagar. The exam is called NIPER JEE.
