Established in 2015, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow is a public private partnership higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the large city of Allahabad (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Uttar Pradesh. Officially accredited/recognized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, India, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow (IIIT Lucknow) is a coeducational higher education institution. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow (IIIT Lucknow) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. IIIT Lucknow also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including as well as administrative services.
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow (IIIT, Lucknow) is one of the 20 IIITs being set up by the Central Government in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. IIIT, Lucknow plans to admit the first batch of B. Tech. in Information Technology with an intake of 50 students w.e.f. the academic session 2015-16.
The admission will be made through central counseling of candidates who qualify in JEE (Mains). IIIT, Lucknow will temporarily operate from the IIIT, Allahabad Jhalwa Campus.
The permanent campus of IIIT, Lucknow is coming up in 50 acres of land at Chak Ganjariya Region, Lucknow. The Institute is being set up with the financial contributions of MHRD, Govt. of India, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, and U. P. Electronics Corporation Ltd. as industry partner

At Present Btech. IT programme is running at IIIT Allahabad Campus since 2015-2016.
The classes will be held at IIIT Allahabad.

The first batch of students will be selected by CSAB 2015.This year classes will held at IIIT, Allahabad Jhalwa Campus.The first batch of students of IIIT, Lucknow will avail all the facilities of IIIT, Allahabad.
