Uttar Pradesh is the one of the largest state of India. It is located in the northern India. The capital of UP is Lucknow. It was created in the year of 1937 as the United Provinces, and in 1950, it was renamed as Uttar Pradesh. A new state, Uttarakhand was carved out from the Himalayan hill region of UP on 9 November 2000. The state is bordered by Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and MP.
