THAPAR UNIVERSITY 2017: ADMISSIONS, Ranking, Cut offs

Admissions for BE/B.Tech programs are open at Thapar University.

ELIGIBILITY

MARKS

The candidate must have secured the marks mentioned in option A or option B.

OPTION A

The candidate has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Computer Science.)

The candidate has appeared in JEE (Main)-2017 and has secured at least 20% aggregate marks (15% for SC/ST candidates). This clause shall not be applicable for the PGN, GoI, JKM, JK students & N-E students.

OPTION B

The candidate has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 80% marks (75% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Computer Science.)

The candidate has appeared in JEE (Main)-2017 and has secured at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ST candidates). This clause shall not be applicable for the PGN, GoI, JKM, JK students & N-E students.

AGE

The candidate is born on or after October 1, 1992 (5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST/PH candidates).

CRITERIA OF SELECTION

Students should take JEE (Main) – 2017 and must separately apply for Thapar university seat allotment procedure.

Admissions are on the basis of the score in JEE (Main).

Note: Admission to B.Tech – Biotechnology programme will be done on the basis of NEET-2017.

Create an account to get your Username & Password.
Login with your “Username” and “Password”.
Fill up the Personal Details, Academic Details, choose the preferences of the programs and upload your recent photograph & signature
Submit the application form.
Paste a recent passport size photograph on it.
Pay the Application Fee through the Payment Gateway (online mode) or through Demand Draft (offline mode).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If Application Fee is paid Online: The candidates are not required to send the printout of application form but they must produce it at the time of document checking of original documents during ‘In-person’ counselling.

If Application Fee is paid through DD: Please send one of the printouts by attaching DD of required amount (in favour of Thapar University and payable at Patiala) to ‘In-charge Admission Cell’ Thapar University, Patiala (Punjab) – 147004.
