NEET 2017 Cut Off marks will be published along with the result declaration in the first week of June 2017. National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted to provide admission in the MBBS & BDS courses. NEET is national level medical entrance exam organized by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). In this article, we have updated the information regarding to the NEET 2017 Cut-Off.
The National Eligibility and Entrance Test or NEET-UG is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS/ dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in India.NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves in 2013. However, many colleges and institutes had taken a stay order and conducted private examinations for admission to their MBBS and BDS courses.
Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawarharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were set up by separate laws.
NEET 2017 Cut Off
The cut-off mark is the minimum marks that candidates have to secure in the qualifying examination. NEET Cut-off marks will be based on different factors such as the number of candidates appeared in the entrance exam, availability of seats & the difficulty level of examination. On the basis of cut-off marks, the merit list will be drawn and NEET Counselling will be done. The minimum qualifying marks is 50% in the case of general category, 45% marks in case of GEN – PH, 40% marks in case of reserved category. NEET 2017 Merit List
The exam conducting authority will prepare All India Merit List of successful candidates on the basis of the eligibility criteria & marks scored in the NEET examination. The merit list will be announced after the NEET result declaration. Under 15% all India quota, the merit list will be equal to the availability of seats for allotment in MBBS/BDS programme. List of successful candidates will be forwarded to the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for the online counselling procedure.
