About MCOPS or Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences –
It is affiliated with Manipal University. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1963.
It is on 3rd rank amid the thousands of other pharmaceutical colleges of India.
The college offers courses including –
- PharmD
- D.Pharm
- M.Pharm
- B.Pharm
Also, it offers lateral entry programs in the B.Pharm program. With time, MCOPS became the first-ever college to provide a postgraduate course [M. Pharm] in Karnataka in 1970. Also, to offer the Doctor of Pharmacy [PharmD]program in 2008 in India.
This college is approved by AICTE and PCI and certified by the NBA.
MCOPS has just about 2500+ faculty as well as 10,000 other service staff and support, who serve several professional institutions in communication, health sciences, humanities, management, etc.
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Courses and Eligibility:
B.Pharm[Lateral] :
- Students should have a degree in Diploma in Pharmacy.
- Duration: 3 years
PharmD:
- Students must pass his/her class 12 with subjects including- English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Maths Computer science/Biotechnology as one of the optional subjects.
- Duration: 2 years
B.Pharm :
- Students who have completed and passed their class 12 with subjects including – Chemistry, Physics and
English/Math or Computer science/Biology or Biotechnology as optional subjects are eligible to pursue this course. - Duration: 4 years
M.Pharm :
- Degree in B.Pharm with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Duration: 2 years
D.Pharm :
- Students must have passed the intermediate qualifying exam in Chemistry/Math/Physics.
- Duration: 2 years
PharmD [PB]:
- Degree in B.Pharm with at least 50% grades in aggregate.
- Duration: 2 years + 1-year internship

MCOPS Admission Process:
The college offers professional pharmacy education at the UG, PG, and Diploma levels. Students are selected to pursue the courses based on the previous academic records for the Lateral and Diploma levels.
For Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, students have to appear for the All India Manipal Entrance Test [Met], and on the basis of that students will get admission and will proceed further.
How to apply?
- Students have to visit the website of the college and click on ‘Apply now.
- Register yourself. Provide your personal details as well as academic details.
- Students are then required to pay INR 600 as their application fee and INR 1400 as entrance fee [just for a few courses]. They have to play through a Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking.
- And last, submit the form.
