Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, MBBS Admission, Ranking, Cutoff 2017-18


Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bangalore was established in 1980 by the Vokkaligara Sangha and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. KIMS is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) permanently. The Institute was started in 1981 as a medical college and has its own multi specialty hospital providing tertiary medical care and community health services. The total bed strength of the hospital is 1000. 

The college is currently affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and recognized by the Medical Council of India for imparting training for U.G. and P.G. courses in various medical and surgical specialties.  The institute is also recognized by General Medical Council, UK and is listed in the Directory of Medical Schools of World health Organization. 

A pass in 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University with a minimum 50% of marks in aggregate and Physics Chemistry and Biology as the compulsory subjects. The candidate must have attained an age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
