Dr. R. B. Singh Gaya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital was established in 1967 by visionary Dr. Ram Balak Singh, a veteran Homoeopath who after this formal education in Homoeopathy established this college to offer more avenues and opportunity of education in Classical Homoeopathy.
His interest borne fruit by establishment of GHMCH in the natural surrounding on the bank of river NIRANJANA, place well known as Amawan very much adjacent to the district headquarter of Gaya district of Bihar. Amawan is located by the side of Bodh-Gaya a place of enlightenment for the Lord Buddha.
Dr. RBSGHMCH is Governed by a society registered under the society registration act and now recognized by the Central council of homoeopathy, New Delhi. It is also permitted by the Department of AYUSH, ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and Affiliated to the BRA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
In its long journey it is successfully developed as a unique institution involved in imparting knowledge through research and teaching in Homoeopathy by experienced academically qualified faculty members with ultra modern teaching aids. The clinical teaching is unique through its OPD and IPD where large number of patients visit for treatment. The college portfolio of long term programme is diverse catering to the requirement of aspiring students for developing their career in the diverse sector of Homoeopathy.

The campus is located on the bank of river Niranjana, at Amawan that is adjacent to the Gaya district of Bihar. The campus is well-connected by road and railway transportation both; from Patna and Bodh Gaya itself. There are separate blocks for each department.

Homoeopathy
To cure the sick and restore health is the basic requirement for every human being. As the life is dependent on multiple factors, different approach towards the restoration of Health has been sought from time memorable. Emergence of Homoeopathy is quite natural and indicative of very definitive concepts towards the life in both health and in diseased condition.
Systemic practice of Homoeopathy is based on the scientific investigation and logical application in medicine developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a great German physician, who is regarded as the father of Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy is now an established system of Medicine, recognized all over the globe with good reputation of cure for all types of chronic and acute diseases.
In India Homoeopathy has been accepted as a system of medicine by the Government of India through enactment of Homoeopathic Central Council Act 1973. Now it is included as a system of Medicine along with the other systems and incorporated under the National Health Policy. (In the 9th Joint conference of the Central Council of Health & Family Welfare have considered Medicine on top priority basis in achieving the National goal of Health for all.)
In India now Homoeopathy has become more academic with potentiality increasing day by day. Both Central and State Government are very much interested in promoting its practice by planning research centers and Homoeopathic Educational institution. To increase its resourcefullness and accessibility among common masses by appointing Homoeopathic Medical practitioners at par with other medical system practitioners status at all level of medical practices.
