PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES :

Biotechnology engineering graduates will be able to:

 

1: Apply the knowledge in the field of engineering biotechnology to pursue higher studies and careers in biotechnology industries, consultancies and research institutions.

 

2: Exhibit critical thinking ability towards solving complex problems of Upstream and Downstream Processing, and Modelling and Simulation.

 

3: Plan and conduct the experiments in modern biotechnology laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities

 

4: Instill professional attitude with ethical res nsibility, effective communication skills, teamwork, multidisciplinary approach and apply their technical expertise to social issues.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES :

On successful completion of the B.Tech Biotechnology program, the students will be able to:

1: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, applied biology and engineering.

2: Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

3: Design a process to achieve the target yield within practical such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.

5: Design and control bioprocess equipment.

6: Understand professional and ethical responsibility.

7: Communicate effectively and work in a team.

8: Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic and societal context.

9: Engage themselves in lifelong learning.

11: Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Duration: 4 years

  • Citizenship: Indian nationals.

  • Qualification: Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

ADMISSIONS

General Category: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Entrance Test  2017.

Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Note: Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained under any circumstances.

ENTRANCE TEST PATTERN

Entrance Test Type: Entrance Test  2017

Test Syllabus: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General English include questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards /Universities.
