Overview :
M.Des. or Master of Design is a two-year postgraduate Fashion and Interior Designing programme. Fashion design is the art of the application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories. Fashion design is influenced by cultural and social latitudes and has varied over time and place. The course will enable you to apply advanced theory and practice to your chosen specialism. As a student, you’ll explore original conceptual design principles and methodologies in response to global fashion needs. This will enable you to create, develop and manage your portfolio and present a finished product, collection or prototypes which demonstrate research and technical design prowess. You will be able to develop your thinking and skills in the following areas such as research skills for fashion, experimental practice, construction techniques and materials, product development, CAD for Fashion, capsule collections and fashion portfolio skills.
- Bachelor degree with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST candidate) or any other equivalent qualification.
- Some of the very reputed institutes conduct entrance examination for admission to the degree course.
