AP PGECET 2017 (Andhra Pradesh Post-Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test ) is scheduled in May 2017. The Application Form is available from March 2017. Before filling the registration form, it is important for candidates to check the eligibility criteria set by APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education).

AP PGECET is a state level exam conducted for candidates seeking admission in the field of Engineering, Technology and Pharmacy courses. For the academic session of 2017-2018, the entrance exam will be conducted by JNTU, Kakinada (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) on behalf of APSCHE. Candidates having GATE and GPAT scores are not allowed to sit for the exam, as they will get admission on the basis of these scores.

AP PGECET 2017 Exam Pattern includes 120 Multiple Choice Questions. The candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the test. The Results for AP PGECET will be announced on the official website and the students who qualify the exam will be eligible for the AP PGECET 2017 counselling process.

AP PGECET 2017 Application process will begin in March 2017. The exam will be held in the last week of May 2017.  Given below are the AP PGECET 2017 Important Dates that a candidate must know so that he or she does not miss any deadline:

AP PGECET 2017 Eligibility

The candidates who want to pursue the post graduate courses from Andhra Pradesh colleges must ensure that they satisfy the AP PGECET 2017 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Failure to fulfil all conditions may lead to rejection of application. The details of AP PGECET 2017 eligibility conditions are given below:

  • Candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • Candidates must have domicile of Andhra Pradesh state.
  • Candidates must meet the local /non-local status requirements as prescribed for admissions.
  • For Engineering courses:

Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

  • For Pharmacy Courses:

Candidate must have scored at least 55% marks (50% for SC and ST category) in the qualifying examination.

It may be noted that candidates applying on the basis of GATE or GPAT scores need not apply for AP PGECET 2017. They will have to follow different application process.

AP PGECET 2017 Application Process

The candidates must fill the AP PGECET 2017 Application Form to apply. The application form will be available online and candidates will need to make the fee payment first to be able to apply for the exam. The step by step process to fill the form for the exam is given below:

Forgot Registration Number

In case a candidate has forgotten his registration number or id, he or she can retrieve it by visiting the official website. Transaction id, date of birth and mobile number will have to be provided to recover the forgotten registration id.

Forgot Transaction Number

In case the candidate has forgotten his transaction number, he or she must visit the official website and enter details such as payment source, mobile number and date of birth, SSC hall ticket number and SSC year of passing.

Correction in Application form

If the candidate has made some mistakes while filling the application form, he can request corrections to be made. For this purpose, the candidate needs to visit the official website and enter his or her date of birth, registration ID and mobile number. Then, the candidate will be able to edit any wrong fields in the form and provide correct information.

AP PGECET 2017 Admit Card

The admit card is the primary document to be carried on the day of the exam. The candidate will not be allowed entry inside the test centre if he doesn’t produce the hall ticket. The AP PGECET 2017 hall ticket will contain information regarding the venue of the test, the date and timing of the exam, the roll number and name of the candidate and his photograph.

AP PGECET 2017 Exam Centres

The test will be conducted in five cities of Andhra Pradesh, namely Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur, Tirupathi and Anantapuram.

AP PGECET 2017 Result

AP PGECET 2017 results for the exam will be declared in the official website. Only those candidates who appeared for AP PGECET 2017 will be able to view their results. GATE or GPAT students don’t need to take the entrance exam and hence, will not be able to view their results. It may be noted that GATE / GPAT students will be given preference over the AP PGECET 2017 candidates.

The AP PGECET 2017 Result will be announced in the form of total marks obtained by the candidate and the rank achieved. The steps to view the result are given below:

  • Visit the official website of AP PGECET 2017.
  • Enter your admit card number and click on submit.
  • The candidate will be able to view the percentile and rank obtained along with the qualifying status.
  • Download the AP PGECET 2017 rank card.

It may be noted that candidates will have to score the minimum cut-off marks in order to qualify the entrance exam. The rank card will be available for download separately on a future date.

AP PGECET 2017 Counselling

The counselling process will start after the results are officially declared. The candidates who have qualified the entrance exam will be eligible for to participate in the AP PGECET 2017 Counselling Process.

The counselling will be done based purely on the merit of the students and their scores in AP PGECET 2017 and in GATE / GPAT 2017. The first step will be that of document verification. Thereafter, the candidates will be able to fill and lock their choices for seat allotment process. Depending on the ranks of candidates, the date for web option filling will be different.
