The medical college and hospital is located in the outskirts of the city Surathkal in Mukka, Mangalore, India. The college is located beside the Edapally-Panvel National Highway No. 66 and is located at an approximate distance of 1km from the NITK (National Institute of Technology, Karnataka)

The students enrolled for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme has to do the compulsory rotational internship of one year. The internship refers to one-year compulsory work in the hospital attached to the medical college or in any other approved hospital as allowed in some medical colleges(also known as Teaching Hospital), for a period of one year. The internship provides an opportunity to the students to know the practical aspects of the course which cannot be taught in the classroom.
