XAVIER APTITUDE TEST (XAT) 2018 ; RESULTS

XAT 2018 – Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a management entrance test for admission to the prestigious XLRI -Xavier School of Management. XAT exam is conducted by XLRI on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). Around 150 B-schools across India offer admissions to various management programmes on the basis of XAT scores. Every year, the exam is held in several cities across India and also at international locations. XAT 2018 will be conducted in the month of January 2018. The application process for the exam is likely to start in mid-August 2017. The candidates with a Bachelor’s degree can apply for the exam. XAT exam is counted among the most competitive exams in India and around 1 lakh candidates take this exam every year. The application process is entirely online. For Indian candidates who are seeking admission in XLRI, it is essential to appear in XAT exam. On the basis of this exam, the candidates are shortlisted for the next rounds. XAT Result 2018

The result of XAT 2018 will be declared by the fourth week of January 2018. XAT officials will release the score cards stating the section wise and overall scores and percentiles. Test takers can download the score cards and take requisite number of print outs. XLRI Jamshedpur will also send the hard copy of XAT 2018 score card to the address of candidates. The score card has to be preserved till the admission process gets over.

XAT Cut-off

Cut-off is maintained on the basis of total candidates appeared in the examination. It is the minimum score which is required to qualify the exam. On the basis of cut-off candidates can get admissions in various institutions. Here we have mentioned the expected XAT Cut-off:

XAT Admission 2018

  • On the basis of the score of the candidates in the XAT entrance exam, candidates will be invited for XAT counselling procedure 2018.
  • Counselling will be held through online process.
  • During the admission procedure, candidates will have to go through the process of GD (group discussion) & PI (Personal Interviews) rounds.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for admission as per the marks obtained by them in the examination and GD/PI.

XAT Test Centres 2018

Last year, XAT was conducted in 47 cities across India and two international cities in Dubai and Kathmandu. This year too, it is expected to be conducted in around 50 cities. XLRI Jamshedpur, the conducting body will aim to increase the number of test cities or centres to make it more convenient and accessible for the XAT 2018 applicants.

XAT Answer Key 2018

Since XAT is a paper pencil based test, the answer keys will be released by exam officials as well experts from coaching institutes. The experts will release the XAT answer key 2018 right on the exam day. XLRI Jamshedpur will declare the answer key along with the explanation of the solution and your answer sheet in the third week of January, 2018. With the help of the answer key, candidates will be able to check their number of correct answers and estimate their scores.

XAT Cutoff 2018

The cutoff for XLRI Jamshedpur will be released in the fourth week of January, after the declaration of result. The cutoff percentile will depend on various factors such as difficulty level of exam, number of test takers and number of seats offered in the programme among others. The XAT 2018 cutoff will be based on these factors and will be declared separately by each of the XAT participating institutes.

XAT Participating Institutes 2018

XAT scores will be accepted by over 150 B-schools across India. Last year, the number of XAT participating institutes was 156. The number of XAT 2018 participating institutes may increase this year. The participating institutes can be classified into two types, Xavier Associate Management Institutes (XAMI) and non-XAMI. Last year, the number of XAMI was 11 and the non-XAMI was 145.

XAT Selection Criteria 2018

The selection criteria and XAT 2018 participating institutes vary from B-School to B-School. It is generally a two step process. In the first phase, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their XAT performance and institute cutoff. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Writing Ability Test (WAT) or Essay Writing or Group Discussion/Group Activity and Personal Interview rounds. The B-schools may also consider criteria like past academic records, work experience etc. or the overall candidate profile. Work-experience before graduation will not be counted by the selection panel. Candidates who were in their final year of graduation while applying for XAT must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree at the time of selection procedure in order to be eligible for selection.
