1. Set a format for essay
The first thing for a good essay is its overall appearance. You must not forget to write an essay in paragraphs. A basic essay must have at least three to four paragraphs, depending upon the word limit and the sub-headers. Do not forget to write the title of the essay.
Except the physical appearance you have to keep in mind the format of writing it. Start your essay with a creative approach that must attract the reader’s attention. Each paragraph must be based upon a new and definite theory or idea. The most acceptable format of an essay is one where you start with an introduction about the subject. Then moving on to next paragraphs is where reader gets to understand the subject as a whole. End your essay with a conclusion which actually includes the wrapping-up sentences. Or you may end it with a solution or even a question.
2. Express more in less words
Try to stay composed while writing. Do not write what you speak or how you think in general lives. Remember, you are penning down words on a paper. Be concise and clear about what you are writing. Writing long sentences may take bore the examiner. Expressing your thoughts in a complex way will make it difficult for the reader to understand your point of view. Make use of a simple and easy to understand language. Try to be short and crisp. Do not repeat things while writing.
3. Do not stuff your essay with vocabulary
If you think using big and heavy word will help you gain marks, then you are wrong. Obviously, using good vocabulary will be a positive factor. But stuffing or adding too much dictionary language might deduct your score. Use words which are easy to understand while making your piece attractive.
4. Do not deviate from the topic
Stick to the topic on which you are writing. Sometimes writers deviate from the topic. It is important for you to keep reminding yourself of the topic you are writing. So that you do not move away from the subject. Your writing must express the answer to the question asked. Rather than just an essay which began on the subject but ended with some other issue.
5. Try to use relevant examples or facts
Try to make your essay attractive with relevant or live examples. You can also use facts, proverbs, quotations, or some catchy words or phrases. This will allow your reader to stick to your piece.
