Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Ambala Mbbs Fees Structure

Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is a medical college with annual intake of 150 students. The College is recognized by the Medical Council of India, and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India vide gazette notification no. U.12012/216/2005-ME(P-II) dated 19th May 2011.

The admission procedure is as laid down by the Adesh University. All the teaching departments of basic sciences are equipped with state of the art modern equipments, instruments and teaching aids. The institute has lecture halls with ample seating capacity and equipped with multimedia and other audiovisual facilities along with sound amplifying systems with special emphasis laid on participatory teaching.

Post Graduate (MD/MS) courses in the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Community Medicine have been started from the session 2011-2012. Permission to start M.S. (General Surgery) from session 2013-14 has been granted by MCI.

The ADESH FOUNDATION has made a rapid progress and growth since its inception by introducing innovative and professional courses in medical sciences, allied health sciences, management and technical education. As the Foundation was identified as having potential of conducting and introducing programmes of research and innovations, a University by the name and style as ADESH UNIVERSITY was established under it’s fold in year 2012.

The medical college has got a spacious library present on the second & third floors. It has got air cooled well ventilated and illuminated capacious halls for reading purposes with more than 13000 books pertaining to various undergraduate and postgraduate subjects and 200 national and international journals. The library is equipped with computers connected to the central internet hub of the college having broad band internet lease line for reference to the latest publications of the research material and other information through medlar and worldwide web. Unlimited access to internet is available for all faculty and students. Photo copier & printer services are available at a nominal cost to the students. The library also has got a huge reading room for the students to bring their own study material to pursue in a peaceful and temperature controlled environment.

There is continuous uninterrupted power supply to the hospital, college, hostels and residential complexes. Students can have access to air-conditioned and air-cooled rooms in the hostels. RO systems are installed at all the strategic areas in hospital, college and hostels for continuous supply of clean water. Wholesome vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available in the hostels.

Computers have been provided to all the departments of the college and teaching hospital, thus helping the staff members to update their knowledge and skills from time to time. In addition a spacious examination hall for students to appear in their departmental or university examination has been provided.

The course of studies of M.B.B.S. leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) shall last a minimum of five and a half academic years (including one year of compulsory rotatory internship) and is subject to the rules and regulations of the Adesh University and Medical Council of India (MCI).

Teaching Hospital
The teaching hospital of AIMSR is a majestic 7 storey building plus a basement providing a land mark not to be missed on the Bathinda Barnala highway. It has got a capacity of 750 beds and is a multi-specialty hospital in a true sense. It is the beginning of a vision leading ultimately to a mini postgraduate institute in this region of Punjab.

The hospital has an entrance lobby which provides a splendid view and a visual comfort to the patients, having enough space to seat more than 1250 patients and their attendants waiting for their registration, buying medicines at the pharmacy on one side or simply waiting for the relatives.

The emergency is conveniently located close to the main entrance from the highway for easy and quick access to the emergency. An emergency labour room along with the main gynecological OPD is again conveniently located for easy access to the female patients.

The out patient departments are present on three floors divided grossly into surgical, medical and allied for all the subjects of M.B.B.S. courses plus super specialties of neurosurgery, neuromedicine, pediatric surgery, nephrology, urology, cardiology, gastroenterology etc. The OPDs are best equipped for examining the outdoor patients.

The ICU complex consists of medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU), Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a Renal dialysis unit.

The investigative laboratories are equipped with latest state of the art technologies, instruments and equipment. The Department of Biochemistry is equipped with fully automatic analyzer (Beckman Coulter), Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analyzer, Biolyte analyzer for electrolytes, semi automatic analyzers, Elisa Reader and flame photometers etc. The Department of Microbiology is fully equipped with Laminar flow and modem kits for undertaking diagnostic tests in bacteriology, serology & immunology, parasitology, mycology, virology, and mycobacteriology including Dark ground microscopy. The Department of Pathology is fully equipped for histopathology, cytopathology, clinical hematology and clinical pathology with automatic tissue processors, automatic hematology cell counter, cryostat and coagulometers.

In the department of Radio-diagnosis, in addition to 6 mobile X-ray units there are 300 m.A. X-ray, 500 m.A. X-ray, 800 m.A. 600 m.A. X-ray, 500 m.A. X-ray I.I.TV, Digital X-ray (C R System) for teleradiology, Single Slice CT Scan, 16 Slice CT Scsn, 1.5T MRI, 800 T Mammography, Sonography and Colour Doppler. The Department of Cardiology is equipped with multichannel ECG machines, Echocardiography and TMT facilities. Department of Gastroenterology is equipped with upper and lower GI endoscopes. Investigative procedures such as EEG, EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies, VEP and BAER are conducted by the Department of Neurology. Biofeedback Psychological instruments and ECT machine are available with the Psychiatry Department. The Department of Urology is equipped with facilities for lithotripsy, C-Arm fluoroscopy, and uroflowmetry.

There are ten operation theatres in the hospital with the latest equipment for the Anesthesia department. There are two Image intensifiers (C-Arm) installed in the operation theatres.

The hospital has fully equipped, licensed state of the art Blood Bank which works round the clock, Facilities for all modalities of transfusion and component therapy are available.

Urban Health Center, Bhucho Mandi (Bhucho), Bathinda
The Institution has established an Urban Health Centre at Bucho Mandi at a distance of 3 kms from the college. A population of 32,000 is covered under study area. The Community Medicine department organizes teaching programmes and field visits. Medical Officer is posted there. Students are posted in batches. Separate male and female wards have been established for patient care. Delivery services are available. Immunization services, antenatal care & MCH services are provided. Facilities for diagnostic investigations and minor Surgery are also available. Family welfare activities and activities under the national programmes are also carried out.

Rural Health Training Center, Bhallaiana (Muktsar)
R.H.T.C., Bhallaiana is under the administrative control of the Principal of the College and HOD, Department of Community Medicine. Services of Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology are available for the patients. Community Medicine department organizes teaching programmes and field visits. The senior faculty from the college is posted in rotation for patient care & diagnosis. Lady Medical Officer is available. Interns are posted in batches. Separate male & female wards have been established for patient care. Antenatal and immunization services are provided at the center and in the field. The labour room is well equipped. Investigation facilities for basic investigations, X-ray, ECG, Minor O.T., Injection room, etc. are available. All the vaccines listed under UIP are available. Family welfare activities and activities under the national programmes are also carried out.

Library of Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is situated at 2nd & 3rd floor of medical college building. The total floor area of Central Library is more than 2400 sq. m. The Library of the Campus is Air Conditioned and Computerized. Library collection comprises Books, CDs, Videos, Thesis, Standards and Back Volumes. The Library Subscribes to more than 1500 print and e-Journals. More than 400 seats are available for its users to be accommodated at a time.

We use Library Management Package, namely TechLib7 marketed by the Sui-Generis Technologies, the complete database of library holding of books. Library membership including students, faculty, research scholars, and non teaching staff has been created. Through OPAC the user can search or know the status of an item/ reading material of his/her own choice in library holdings.

Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research College library consists of books and journals of the basic and clinical science and related subject of medical and allied practice. AIMSR library subscribes both national and international journals in addition to the textbooks of basic and clinical sciences. Library services are available for 16 hours in a day.

Recreation Section
To utilize the leisure hours of our staff, dependents and students we have a recreation section. It holds books on fiction, and topics of general interest.

LIBRARY RULES

  • Library remains open from 8.00 A.M. to 12.00 midnight throughout the year, in which the reading room timings are 8.15 A.M. to 11.45 P.M.
  • Library observes holidays on 26th January, 15th August, 2nd October, and on Diwali.
  • Use of Library is strictly reserved for readers possessing a Library Membership Card
  • Every person who enters the Library will sign the Visitor Register.
  • Deposit your personal belongings at the Property Counter.
  • Readers are not allowed to borrow books on the card of another reader.
  • In case of lost book/library card, it should be reported immediately in writing to the Library Incharge.
  • Outgoing publications will have to be shown to the person on duty at the gate.
  • The Marking and Defacing of any publication is strictly forbidden.>
  • Smoking, Eatables and Drinks are not allowed in the Library.
  • Mobile Phones are to be switched off or to be kept on Silent mode in the Library Premises.
